WHO WE ARE

MISSION

To provide contemplative activism and cultural identity formation for Christians of color pursuing a world made whole.

VISION

A future where empowered Christians of color usher in peace and justice through their craft and call.

At PAX, we believe people were made for peace, not simply the absence of conflict, but the presence of dignity, healing, belonging, and wholeness. In a world shaped by injustice, isolation, political divide, and cultural fragmentation, we create sacred spaces for the interior work necessary to sustain those pursuing justice and collective flourishing.

Through contemplative activism, cultural identity formation, creative arts, and intentional community, we nurture the spiritual, creative, and communal foundations required for long-lasting social change, because peace is not passive, and a world made whole is sustained by those embodying liberating love.

OUR STORY

In 2019, a group of Christian faith leaders, pastors, speakers, academics, artists, and visionaries came together to dream about transformation through the peace of Jesus. This group wondered what it would take to inspire and equip future generations to pursue peace, justice, and wholeness.

They dared believe Christians of color might lead the way toward making beautiful, Jesus-centered content and community. For the first five years of its existence, PAX poured its resources into creating 32 different resources for BIPOC Christians and churches, including contemplative resources, artwork, podcasts, online Bible studies, and blog posts. 73 BIPOC theologians, experts, artists, and everyday peacemakers were elevated in this season.

At the end of 2023, Josh Buck stepped down as Executive Director and Tiffany Bluhm, a veteran ministry and nonprofit leader, stepped up to lead the organization. As an Indian-born, Pacific Northwest-dwelling woman, Tiffany thrives at the intersection of faith and justice, and believes in building organizations that serve marginalized communities for the common good.

PAX looks to the future with great hope!
